SlagHuis MultiMedia and Microsoft Enter Into Streaming Media Partnership
SlagHuis MultiMedia, provider of multimedia solutions to the entertainment industry, is accepted into Microsoft\'s Windows Media Service Provider program.

/Multimedia News Articles/ - January 28, 2005 - SlagHuis MultiMedia (SHMM), which provides multimedia solutions to the entertainment industry, was recently accepted into Microsoft Corporation's Windows Media Service Provider program. The program recognizes "demonstrated expertise (in) providing digital solutions with Windows Media."

Sam Bradford of SlagHuis MultiMedia notes "This is an extreme honor and a great benefit for SlagHuis MultiMedia. Being accepted by Microsoft into this program provides tangible benefits for the company, but the greatest benefit is being able to assure our potential and future customers of the quality of work that we can provide, as attested by the industry leader in streaming media technologies." Less than 600 companies worldwide have been awarded this recognition.

SlagHuis MultiMedia focuses on delivering on-demand streaming audio and video for independent recording artists and record labels. Incorporating streaming media into a band or label's web site provides their site visitor (and potential customer) with the ability to listen to as much of the artist's work as they choose to publish without the potential of it being downloaded or saved.

Sam adds, "There is no reason for a band or label to limit the available audio (or video) on their web site to a single MP3 file or 30-second clips when they can let their visitor/fan/customer listen to an entire album to see if they like the album well enough to buy it. In my opinion, the major players in the recording industry are failing to tackle the problem of music piracy with user-friendly technology. There is nothing more user-friendly than letting your customer listen to your product and then providing them with the opportunity to buy it. The public want the physical product at the end of the day, but who wants to spend up to $20 for an album they've never listened to by an artist with whom they're not familiar?"

"The other problem is that many webmasters, bands and labels believe that they can stream audio from a standard web server and prevent the site visitor from downloading the music file. This simply isn't true. If it's running off a web server, it's savable. It's as simple as that. And that's where we come in."

"One of the most important aspects of streaming media is that it can be encoded to target multiple audiences based upon their connection speed. So no more 'click here for dial-up and there for broadband.' When the site visitor clicks on the single stream, the server determines the quality of the audio or video to present based upon the connection."

Sam continues, "Although SHMM concentrates on working with independent recording artists and labels, the potential applications of streaming media are limitless. On-demand and live streaming media can be deployed in businesses for training, in education for lectures, and by the entire entertainment industry from film-makers to venues."

SlagHuis MultiMedia has been producing the award-winning online radio show, Radio Free Abattoir (RFA), since May, 1999.
