The Atlanta-based video production company has already racked up that many awards this year, including a highly respected Telly.

The 30-second broadcast spot, "daVinci - Beyond the Limits," which features the daVinci surgical robotic arm, was awarded a Telly during the 27th Annual awards program. The television commercial was produced for Bay Medical in Panama City, Florida. "Our creative department was charged to take a robotic medical device and portray it in a non-threatening way. This is an incredible honor and we are very proud," said DV Illusions partner Suzanne Kosak.

Playing off the daVinci name, the DV Illusions (DVI) team re-created the tiny mechanical arm using high-end animations and then had it make sweeping brush strokes across the screen as it transitioned from scene to scene, highlighting features and benefits.

Founded in 1978, the Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions. The Telly Awards annually showcases the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world. The widely known national and international competition receives more than 12,000 entries annually.

The end result, which DVI produced 100 percent in-house, "was a unique blend of today's physicians working together with tomorrow's technology," said Christa Hild of Bay Medical Center, Panama City, FL. "DV Illusions nailed it."

In addition to the Telly, DVI also won a Summit Creative Award for the corporate event opener it produced for its' client, Premier Global Services. The Summit Creative Awards' international competition recognizes and celebrates the creative accomplishments of small to medium sized advertising agencies and production companies with annual billings of $25 million or less.

"We wanted to knock our employees' socks off with a high-energy opener with advanced special effects that would leave people in awe," said Randy Salisbury, chief marketing officer for Premier Global Services. "Needless to say, it was a huge hit."

DV Illusions also took home four Aurora Awards, three Videographer Awards, three Pegasus awards and an award in The Accolade Competition.
