Envisa Develops Innovative ScreeningWorks Online Tenant Screening Solution
Envisa develops ScreeningWorks -- residential screening internet pureplay that provide real-time applicant credit checking and address verification, screen the applicant against sex offender registries and terrorist watch lists, and assess the applicant's criminal record and eviction history.
FRAMINGHAM, MA, November 28, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- RentGrow, today's leading service for helping large rental property managers reduce debt by screening applicants for their properties, has partnered with Envisa to develop ScreeningWorks, an innovative online service designed to provide small property owners with a robust, cost-effective, and easy-to-use self-service applicant screening solution in all 50 states.
The RentGrow team recognized a need in the marketplace to provide a service for individuals with fewer than 100 rental units. Leveraging the company's extensive experience in the large-scale rental market, RentGrow envisioned a streamlined web-based service that would enable smaller property owners to register online and perform real-time applicant screening using a credit card. To realize this vision, RentGrow's CEO Michael Lapsley, VP of Product and Market Development Andy Cruickshank, and Chief Technology Officer (and self-described "Chief Nerd") Don Henry worked closely with Envisa to produce exactly what was needed - a customer-centric website that is easy-to-use and helps property managers reduce rental risk by quickly and accurately identifying the most appropriate tenants.
Led by Jeff Mathot and Jeff Schneller, the Envisa team delivered on the ScreeningWorks promise of unbeatable service and convenience by developing a secure and simple registration process that validates client identity through real-time integration with a third-party service. Behind the firewall, Envisa's custom solution integrates with proprietary RentGrow web services to provide real-time applicant credit checking and address verification, screen the applicant against sex offender registries and terrorist watch lists, and assess the applicant's criminal record and eviction history.
The ScreeningWorks solution was developed in Java on Apache/Tomcat and uses a Postgres database. The web site, which is optimized for all major web browsers, was completely custom built, and provides real-time integration with a leading third-party identity verification service, an online payment processor, and an extensive set of proprietary web services that offer in-depth applicant screening. The entire design, development and technical integration effort was compressed into a roughly three-month window, to enable the pilot launch of the service in time for the Spring rental season.
